Working Principle
This transformer relies on natural air convection (AN) or forced-air cooling (AF) for direct thermal dissipation. Featuring an open-coil design without resin-cast or sealed encapsulation layers on the high and low-voltage windings, it performs voltage transformation via electromagnetic induction. Both the core and windings are directly exposed to the ambient air, facilitating rapid heat exchange through continuous air circulation.

Key Advantages: Features a streamlined, straightforward structural design with lower initial procurement costs; offers exceptional maintenance convenience, allowing direct visual inspection of winding conditions and early detection of potential anomalies; boasts a lighter overall weight and highly efficient thermal dissipation under optimal ventilation conditions.
Inherent Limitations: Lacks the robust protection of solid insulation encapsulation, making it susceptible to dust accumulation, moisture ingress, and corrosive environments; operates with higher acoustic noise emission due to the absence of sound-dampening encapsulation barriers; presents a higher risk of electrical contact, necessitating dedicated safety fencing; unsuitable for high-humidity, dusty, or chemically aggressive industrial settings.
Application Scenarios
Primarily deployed in clean, dry, and well-ventilated indoor distribution environments, such as standard commercial office buildings, shopping complexes, small-to-medium industrial plants, and civil building substations. Temperature controllers and cooling fans are frequently integrated to enhance short-term overload capacity. Strictly prohibited for use in underground mines, chemical plants, coastal high-salt-fog zones, or heavy-dust industrial environments.
